A38 CONCERT SHIP & RESTAURANT

A38 concert ship & restaurant is a unique cultural centre and ship-restaurant at the Buda foot of the Petőfi Bridge

Lonely Planet review: People’s like A38 ship in Budapest as the top of the great 100 bars worldwide.

Opened in April 2003, and already the coolest club in Hungary, A38 used to be an Ukrainian stone-carrier. The Artemovszk ship built in 1938 – hence the name - was dragged all the way from the Ukraine to Budapest and underwent extensive reconstruction before reopening as the A38. Today it’s a club offering the best of live international beats, from Cameroonian singer Richard Bona to Tokyo-born Krush, regarded by many as the best DJ in the world.

Once on board you choose between three floors of revelry: the roof terrace, the restaurant, and the lounge and club. Permanently moored beside Petőfi Bridge, the ship’s restaurant’s huge glass windows offer probably the most beautiful view of the river and the city. Its interior furnished in brown leather and dark wood in a modern style provide a warm, friendly and elegant atmosphere.

The ship with its exciting architecture and environment can be an amazing place for shooting films, televison programmes or TV adverts. The A38 Ship and its event-organizers provide all-round help in organising first of all conferences, expert lectures, courses, press-conferences, product promotion events, weddings, birthday parties, private events, concerts, fashion shows, art performances, exhibitons, standing receptions and gala dinners with complete catering and organisation.

The view of the city and the Danube River is splendid. The food is enjoyable and well presented and the service is friendly and helpful. Drinks run from cold beers and fine wines to some excellent cocktails, all of which will fuel your dancing.

The A38 Ship, as member of the Trans Europe Halls network, helps the international cultural circulation pulsating from the Hungarian side.

The leading representatives of these cultural and spiritual centres - where you can meet both punks with pink hair and leading social philosophers – united in 1983 and formed Trans Europe Halles, an international ally, whose only member has become the A38 from Hungary. These are the centres of „revolt”, that can be operated only with great enthusiastic work, so that the common coach of the society could move ahead.

The A38 joined this network so it would be able to add to Europe’s map in international terms all what can make it more colourful and more free from the Hungarian side.
